Two part clothing chest (isho-dansu) from Yahata, a town on Sado Island where most sea chests were made.
This chest was likely a wedding chest, The hand forged and chased hardware depicts the common wedding themes of cranes, long tailed tortoise, pine plum blossom and bamboo.
Restored by Shibui for the North American climate.
